The situation
May 2022: Capgemini Engineering celebrates its first year with an Engineering Week. Five days of daily thirty-minute webinars showcase the division's expertise, while the countries run their own initiatives; I coordinate the invitations, mailers and employee testimonials. The same year, the technology leadership launches the company's first global technical conference, Engineering Horizons. The Chief Technology Officer designs its principle: a call for participation inviting engineers to put forward their own content for the conference.
What I did
With the communications department, I took charge of the event's internal communications. I came up with the line that carried the announcement: "By engineers, for engineers". I created the visual identity and produced a teaser video. Working from the Chief Technology Officer's text, I wrote the first mailer and turned the longest explanations into an FAQ, so the announcement stayed easy to read. Beyond the event itself, I saw it as a pool of stories to feed the newsletters throughout the year and to bring our engineers' achievements to the attention of Group communications.
My work continued from one edition to the next: in 2023, the invitations to a series of online sessions under the same name; in 2024, the internal communications plan, the intranet page and the FAQ for the second conference; in autumn 2024, the call for participation for the 2025 edition, which was still being prepared when I left.
What it produced
Engineering Horizons outlived its first edition: a conference in 2022, an online series in 2023, a second conference in 2024, and a call for participation launched for 2025.
